How did we get here?

While we’d love to discuss the origins of mankind with you, it won’t be in this post! Rather, we’d like to preview how we got us on this journey of becoming missionaries in Brazil. First, we aren’t in Brazil yet. We are in the process of fundraising (we’d love to share our goals with you), selling our things (who needs a lamp?), and other things required to move abroad.

Some of you are not new to this adventure, others of you may be hearing about this for the first time. So you may be thinking…. “Well, it’s about time!” or “Are you crazy? I had no idea!” Well to summarize, God has been doing some crazy things in us forever, but he has perfectly prepared this journey for us and ramped it up these past two years. We have made the trip to Brazil several times, each time learning and seeing something new. We have a heart for that country that runs deep.

Then there’s the kids— A dear friend somehow talked us into leading a small group of teens at church when we arrived in Idaho. This strengthened our passion for loving on them and showing them the hope we have in Jesus. We took a detour (or so we thought) through the adoption process, for about 8 years, to find out that this is what we were being prepared for. While we never successfully adopted, we have been prepared in so many ways for this very assignment in Brazil.

We couldn’t be more excited and encouraged about where God is leading us! We want to share that excitement with you, too. If we haven’t reached out to you yet, please know that we want to.
